Rubbish, waste and litter dropping by park visitors in the National Park is the main cause for its pollution. Also, illegal industrial waste dumping by factories and manufacturers from the surroundings is increasingly affecting visitors' safety and is endangering the unique flora and fauna of the Alta Murgia park. The "Have a clean park for 365 days a year" project of the Alta Murgia National Park aims at providing further information and raising people's awareness on environmental issues such as waste collection and recycling programmes.
